Bodies is a branding concept for a quarterly publication focusing on the socio-political impact of bodies of water around the world. The article content was sourced from a variety of news organizations including The New York Times, Worldview by Stratfor, and Diagolo Chino. The final deliverables include 1 issue of the magazine in print, a mobile application, business cards, and a billboard advertisement.

For this project, I drew design inspiration from similar publications such as National Geographic, Scientific American, and Smithsonian. I focused on incorporating striking images of nature and detailed maps and timelines to tell the story of water in the 21st century. My layouts incorporate the shapes of the bodies of water they discuss. Many articles have a scrapbook feel, in order to add some character to the serious and potentially dry material. I chose Uncut Sans as my typeface, in order to give the typography the neutral feeling of journalistic content, while still having a unique look and feel compared to more popular sans serifs like Helvetica or Univers.
